RTI-Federation's mission is to promote good governance by ensuring transparency, accountability, and the right to information for all citizens of Nepal. It works to build strong networks of organizations and individuals practicing RTI at the grassroots level.

RTI-Federation was established in 2078 BS in Kathmandu, Nepal, as an umbrella organization uniting various stakeholders committed to the cause of transparent governance and access to information.

RTI-Federation consists of 14 institutional funding members and operates through eight provincial committees, 77 district committees, and local committees across Nepal.

RTI-Federation engages in various initiatives, including youth awareness campaigns in colleges, community awareness programs, province-level capacity-building training, and coordination meetings with public authorities to promote access to information.

Organizations and individuals with a commitment to promoting transparency, good governance, and the right to information can join RTI-Federation. Members come from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds.

RTI-Federation provides training, conducts awareness campaigns, and advocates for policies that enhance the public's right to access information from government bodies. It works closely with public authorities to ensure a transparent and accountable system.
